Noakes does it with hat trick for Mud Sharks

The Do-Itt Drywall Mud Sharks stopped the Centreline Attack 8-0 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play.

The Do-Itt Drywall Mud Sharks stopped the Centreline Attack 8-0 in North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association Division 2 play Thursday night at Marshall Field #5.

The Mud Sharks (8-2) were led by three goals from Hailey Noakes and a pair of g-notes from Lenai Schmidt, while Courtney Douma, Shaylan Zecchel and Bryanna Cole added singles.

Celine Connelly’s hard work nearly paid off for the Attack (1-9), as she came close to scoring on several great plays.

Sistas stifle Chickkickers

The OTC/Sunterra Sistas shoved the Chickkickers OMG 6-1 at Marshall Field #1.

Deanna Baker pulled a hat trick while Cassandra Otto sniped a pair for the Sistas. The first came on a corner and the second was set up by her mother, Angela Otto. Diane Neudorf added a single and Becky Birbillis made key saves for the Sistas (9-1).

The Chickkickers fell to 2-9-1.

Kelowna clips Silver Stars

The Kelowna Kickers edged the Silver Stars 3-2 in North Okanagan Men’s 55+ Soccer League at MacDonald Park Thursday.

The Kickers (7-3-3) capitalized on three penalty kicks.

Steve Coombs entered his 50s in style with a goal on his 50th birthday for the Stars. Wolfgang Bopp added  the other snipe.

The Silver Stars dipped to 9-1-1.

Chabot scores gorgeous header

Vernon Kal Tire brushed back West Kelowna 4-2 at Constable Neil Bruce Field.

Central midfielder Dennis Chabot scored a deuce for the Tiremen (4-5-1). Chabot, named Helmut’s Sausage Kitchen Man of the Match, netted the goal of the year when he dove and headed in a hard cross from Jenn Huberts midway through the second half.

Central midfielder Jim Sparrow, on a high 20-yarder, in the first minute, and centre fullback Rob Parkin, with a 35-yarder which snuck through the keeper’s hands, had the other tiremen goals.

Former NHL enforcer Glen Cochrane, on a penalty kick which dribbled under Pete (The Heat) Richter’s hands, and Tony Sodoro replied for West Kelowna.
