Hailey Noakes notched a pair of goals as Kia Red iced Team White 3-1 in Under 18 girls Vernon House Soccer League play Saturday at Marshall Field #3.
After burying her first goal at the five-minute mark, Noakes took a feed from Ivy Strothers to make it 2-0 a few minutes later. Simraj (Simi) Sidhu, playing with an injured quad, attacked the net and was rewarded with Kia’s third goal.
Paige Haberstock and Kelsey Raber shared netminding duties, supported by defender Kristina Thompson, who used her big voice to orchestrate the back line of Aliyha Akkurt, Jennifer Borchert and Kate Curtis.
Hard-working midfielders Strothers, Alyssa Pembleton, Anna Anderson, Josee Christian, Emma Dolman, Raber and Sidhu were relentless in their ball pursuit, setting up strikers Janelle Cole and Noakes for some quality attacks.
