The GM Outlaws were back in action at home this past week as they faced off against local rivals, NOD.

NOD came into the game full of confidence after picking up their first win of the season the previous week; however, it was the Outlaws that started the game on the front foot.

As has been the problem throughout the start of the season though, the Outlaws couldn’t turn their pressure, possession and chances in to goals.

At the midway point of the first half, NOD capitalized on a mix up in the midfield and played a through ball that was latched on to by their striker who kicked it home to make the score 1-0.

The rest of the half continued in the same fashion, with the Outlaws pressing, and coming close with an attempted header from a corner kick.

The second half got under way, and with the temperature dropping as the sun started to set, it made for a much quicker game.

The NOD players started the second half much stronger and controlled possession of the ball right from the beginning.

The Outlaws’ players were now second to the ball,as NOD dominated the midfield. This pressure soon paid off, and with 15 minutes of the half played, they were awarded a penalty decision.

The game became far more open, with chances coming at both ends but neither side taking advantage.

With 15 minutes to play, NOD played another beautiful through ball which opened up the Outlaws’ defence and left the attacker with a very simple finish which he calmly slotted in to the bottom corner.

The Outlaws were still creating chances, but once again failed to find the goal for the third time in their opening four games. The game drew to a close with NOD taking the victory 2-0 as they claimed bragging rights over their local rivals.

Next stop for the Outlaws is a very tricky away trip to Revelstoke as they seek revenge for the 3-0 defeat from earlier in the season.
