‘North Island Strong’ takes over the Chilton Regional Arena for 40th anniversary Ice Carnival

Every two years, the Port McNeill Figure Skating Club puts on an Ice Carnival.

The Chilton Regional Arena was taken over by the Port McNeill Figure Skating Club’s 40th anniversary Ice Carnival “North Island Strong” on Friday and Saturday night.

Every two years, the figure skating club puts on an Ice Carnival, with this year’s theme celebrating all things North Island.

With over 40 figure skaters participating in this year’s Ice Carnival, the Chilton Arena was packed with friends and family who all came out to cheer on the amazing athletes as they performed their hearts out to great musical choices while wearing classic costumes.

The “North Island Strong” Ice Carnival featured performances from: Kierra Shambrook skating to ‘Wings’ by Little Mix, Intermediate skaters performing to ‘Small Town’ by John Mellencamp, Rayah Dustin skating to ‘Wild Things’ by Alessia Cara, Monday Canskate Level 1 and 2 skating to ‘Fishing in the Dark’ by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Ella Fjeld performing to ‘9 to 5’ by Dolly Parton, Monday Canskate Level three and up skating to ‘Life is a Highway’ by Rascal Flatts, Natasha Grafton performing to ‘Who Says you Can’t Go Home’ by Bon Jovi and Jennifer Nettles, and much more!
