The Western Performance Division of North Vancouver Island Horse Association is starting off the season with a family, fun-filled weekend April 16-17 at the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.
On Saturday a well-known rider/clinician/trainer from Victoria will be instructing on how to ride and train the horse to go through, step up or over, duck under, splash through or haul a covered wagon through a variety of “frontier trail obstacles” in the first of many-to-follow Extreme Trail Classes. Sunday will be the show and the riders will be judged on their abilities.
“We are extremely fortunate to have a talented local artist/equestrian course designer who has spent copious hours constructing and developing a fun yet challenging course,” an NVIHA spokesperson said. “Riders come from Port Alberni and Powell River and all locations in between, so we are looking forward to a good turnout.”
