Oceanside’s Ravensong Water Dancers synchronized swim team capped off its season recently with a strong showing at their provincial championships.

In the mix alongside 12 other teams from throughout B.C. at Commonwealth Games Pool in Kamloops, the Water Dancers were in fine form, as their trio of Jasmin Ford, Allandra Ryhorchuk and Julie Preston garnered gold, while the Duet of Alanna Morton and Kyra Wilson earned silver, and together with Dasha Tchernova, took fourth in the team competition.

It was, said head coach Carol MacFayden “a good year with a small yet enthusiastic group of kids. We try to always have fun while working on our skill development and team camaraderie,” she explained, adding those close to the club are already “looking forward to what next year brings.”

To that end the Water Dancers will be hosting their yearly ‘see it try it’ in September “where we love to show kids our moves. We want to welcome potential new Ravensong Waterdancers,” said MacFayden.

Watch for more info on the bulletin board at the pool for exact dates and time.
