Team B.C.’s roster for the 2016 National Women’s U18 Championship in Regina, Sask., from Nov. 9-13 will feature seven athletes from the Canadian Sport School Hockey League, Hockey B.C. announced.
Of the seven named for the 20-player roster are four members of the Okanagan Hockey Academy Female Prep team, as well as head coach Christina Sharun of Nanaimo, who will serve has head coach of the squad.
“We are very pleased with the roster that has been selected to represent British Columbia at the 2016 National Women’s U18 Championship,” said Sharun in a press release. “Over the course of the past four months, the 20 players who will represent Team B.C. this season have competed with passion, intensity and focus each time they had the opportunity to wear the B.C. crest.”
Players representing the OHA are Allison Borrow (Clearwater) Mikayla Capelle (Dawson Creek), Miranda Gaudet (West Kelowna) and Olivia Knowles (Campbell River). Other CSSHL players are Molly Box (Vernon), Ashley McCabe (Lilloet) and Kate Stuart (Chilliwack).
Team B.C. will travel to Regina for pre-stage camp from Nov. 5-8, before facing Team Manitoba in their first game of the tournament on Nov. 9.
