Okanagan Rockets duo named to all-star team

Liam Finlay and Tyson Jost selected to BCMML's six-member team

Okanagan Rockets forwards Liam Finlay and Tyson Jost have been named to the 2013-2014 BCMML All-Star team.

Both players are coming off record-setting seasons for a Rockets team that pushed its season all the way to a Telus Cup birth in Moose Jaw.

Finlay became just the second player in Rockets history to crack the 100-point plateau for his career.  In just 28 regular season games, Finlay posted 17 goals  51 points. He would go on to add 15 more points including 11 goals in the playoffs, helping the Rockets to their second BCMML crown.  At the Telus Cup, Finlay was named the tournament’s most sportsmanlike player.

Meanwhile, Jost had one of the most dominant seasons ever. The rookie from St. Albert  established a BCMML record for goals in a season with 44 and a Rockets club record with 88 points, all in just 36 games played.  In the playoffs, Jost established yet another record with 18 points in 7 games. Jost was a fixture on the Rockets top line all season long, leading the Rockets to their 1st ever appearance at the Telus Cup where they Rockets claimed national bronze.
