Okanagan Rockets sweep Ice

Lucas Cullen scores three goals in Rockets' first BCMML games since mid-December

A month after their last league games, the Okanagan Rockets returned to BCMML action on the weekend with a two-game sweep of the Kootenay Ice.

On Saturday in Nelson, the Rockets prevailed 3-1.

Lucas Cullen, Alec Zawatsky and Myles Mattila scored for Okanagan.

On Sunday, Cullen scored two more in a 4-2 win over the Ice. Shawn Guison and Eli Zummack also scored for the Rockets.

With the wins, the Rockets (17-8-2) move into a third place tie with the Vancouver Northwest Giants (16-8-4).

Okanagan will head back on the road this weekend for the BCMML Showcase, featuring 10 teams at the Rochmond Oval.

The Rockets will take on the Northeast Chiefs on Saturday and Sunday.

The Rockets next home action is Friday, Jan. 29 against the South Island Royals, a make-up game from earlier in the season.

On Jan. 30 and 31, Okanagan will host the Greater Vancouver Canadians.
