Opening day for AGC men

It’s that time of year again, when everyone is chomping at the bit to get going on the golf course.

It’s that time of year again, when everyone is chomping at the bit to get going on the golf course.

Sunday, March 29 is the opening day of the Men’s Club. It will be a four-man best ball competition with the best net and best gross counting on each hole. But it can’t be the same player.

It all get under way with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Please register in the Pro Shop in your own group or enter as a single and you will be placed on a team.

Remember that all holes must be putted out. Also you must enter your score in the computer before you play your next round.

Preben Rasmussen is the new club captain. He with his committee have made some positive changes, in hopes to attract more members to play on Sunday mornings.

The Men’s Club dues this year will be $10, down from $20 last year.

Also there will be 10 sponsored events this year. The cost for these events will be $15 which includes closest to the pins and money pots on all par 3’s.

On the open Sundays there will be net and gross prizes. The cost for those days will be $7 which includes closest to the pins and money pots.

Preben and his committee plan on giving out more prizes throughout the season instead of having so many draws on the windup day.

Please if at all possible try and pay in the Pro Shop when you sign up to play. This will give the ones who are taking the money on Sunday morning’s time to get to their assigned tees.

The club championship will be held over two days again this year Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26. Something new this year the championship will be strictly a gross competition.

On the Sunday there will be regular Men’s Club activities, as well as the second round of the championship.

Have fun and good golfing to all.
