Members of Oceanside Running Club scale the podium at GoodLife Fitness races in Victoria

Five members of the Oceanside Running Club earned podium finishes — including three winners — in the 37th GoodLife Fitness marathon, half-marathon and 8-kilometre races in Victoria Oct. 9.

Faye Amos won the women’s 60-64 age group in the marathon, in a time of 3 hours, 46 minutes and 17 seconds.

Jim McLean, who four months ago was hospitalized following a stroke, was the top finisher among men 85-89 in the half-marathon. McLean covered the 21-kilometre distance in 2:26:57.

Melissa Ross added a silver medal in the half-marathon’s 30-34 women’s age group, in 1:22:15, and Peter Poland claimed bronze in the men’s 55-59 division in the same race, in 1:32:57.

In the 8K run, Terry Riggins was first among men 65-69, in 35:38.

In all, 13 members of ORCA took part in the races.
