Kelowna’s Megan Osland led the San Jose State Spartans women’s golf team to a fifth-place showing at the Las Vegas Collegiate Division 1 Showdown last week at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.

Osland, a senior at SJSU, carded rounds of 74-70-73 to finish tied for 11th place at 1-over par.

Eighteen Div. 1 teams and 96 golfers competed at the three-day event, with San Diego State taking the overall team title.

Osland’s final round included four birdies to finish off the fall portion of the 2014-15 competitive season.

The KSS grad won the season’s first tournament, capturing the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Intercollegiate by a convincing seven strokes.

Osland will now focus on her studies until the start of the NCAA spring season.

SJSU’s next major event is the Peg Barnard Intercollegiate at the Stanford Golf Course, Feb. 14 and 15.
