Owls battle Voodoos Friday in high school football

Boucherie takes on Mouat, while KSS and RSS meet at the Apple Bowl

The lights will be on Friday night at the Apple Bowl for the fourth week of B.C. high school football regular season action. At 4 p.m., in the AAA Eastern Conference action, the Mt. Boucherie Bears (1-2) will face the W.J. Mouat Hawks (1-1) from Abbotsford.

Then at 6:30 p.m., the all-Kelowna matchup features the KSS Owls against the Rutland Voodoos.

The Owls are 1-1 after dropping a 37-6 verdict to the top-ranked Terry Fox Ravens (3-0) last weekend in Coquitlam. KSS got off to a quick start as QB Parker Simson found Ryan Samuelson with a 75-yard TD pass for a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. But was all Ravens after that who led 24-6 at the half, then added two more majors in the second half.

The Voodoos are 0-2 after their latest loss, 35-6 on Friday to Lord Tweedsmuir.

The Bears, meanwhile, were shutout last Friday at the Apple Bowl, 41-0 by the St. Thomas More Knights (3-0).
