Oak Bay’s Windsor Park is busy with Victoria Cricket League action this weekend. On Saturday, June 25, Oak Bay plays the University at 12 p.m., before Sunday, June 26 brings the Alcos to take on Cowichan, also at 12 p.m. at Windsor.
Paddlers will want to head to Willows Park this Saturday, June 25 for the annual MEC Paddlefest, featuring a day full of activities.

With the Junior Premier Eagles and Mariners both on the road to the Mainland this weekend, the Premier teams will hold down the baseball action on home fields.
The Victoria Eagles Premier boys are back with an action-packed weekend of home games. The Eagles host the Abbotsford Cardinals in a doubleheader at Lambrick Park Saturday, June 25, with games at 12 and 2:30 p.m., before returning to the Lambrick diamond Sunday, June 26, to host the North Shore Twins at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Oak Bay’s Premier Mariners also play four at home this weekend, but across town at Layritz Park. The Mariners host the North Shore Twins for two games Saturday, June 25, with games at 1 and 3:30 p.m. On Sunday, June 26, the Mariners host the Abbotsford Cardinals for a doubleheader with 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. starts.
In lacrosse action Friday, June 24, the Victoria Shamrocks welcome the New Westminster Salmonbellies for a 7:45 p.m. start at the Q Centre.
With the teams split with a win and a loss against each other this season, this tiebreaker is sure to bring some intensity to the floor.
The Victoria Harbourcats start a three-game series at home at Royal Athletic Park against the Cowlitz Black Bears Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26. First pitches go at 6:35 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. Sunday. Following a June 27 to the 29 roadtrip, the ‘Cats return home for three games against the Kelowna Falcons, June 30 to July 2. The Intermediate Shamrocks take to the Q Centre floor Saturday, June 25 for a 1:30 p.m. tilt against New Westminster, while in Junior Shamrocks action, the ‘Rocks host the Coquitlam Adanacs at the Q at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 25 before heading to the Mainland to take on the Langley Thunder.
The junior squad finish the week with a roadtrip to Nanaimo Wednesday, June 29 to take on the Timbermen at 7 p.m.
With the return of local hockey on the not-too-distant horizon, the Victoria Cougars Junior B organization is looking for billet families for the 2016-2017 season, which runs from September to mid-April.
