The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club took its winning ways up Island over the weekend to the Anderton Nursery Triples Tournament.

The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club took its winning ways up Island over the weekend, securing four of the top six spots in the Anderton Nursery Triples Tournament.

According to PLBC’s Carol Bucyk, the two-day tourney, held at the scenic Courtenay Lawn Bowling Club, “had lots of challenge and suspense going for it, with first and second place spots having to be decided by tie breaker ends.”

In the end, the Parksvillians prevailed, nosing out the visiting team from Powell River.

FINAL RESULTS: First: Wayne and Brenda Edwards, Bill Mills – PLBC

Second: Bob and Eileen Milsom, Maureen Hanright – Powell River/Qualicum Beach

Third: Jan and Stu MacNaughton, Jim Muir – PLBC

Fourth: Archie and Linda Harris, Melie Ursulom – Courtenay

Fifth: Pat and Gwen Kelly, Patti Barrow – PLBC

Sixth: Ken and Carol Bucyk, Rick Dolley – PLBC

UP NEXT: PLBC’s next tournament will be the Club Triple June 1-2.

The big annual Men’s Triples Sea Soil Classic goes June 7-9. and as always, is in support of the Oceanside Hospice Society “and attracts high calibre competitive lawn bowlers from up and down the Island as well as the Lower Mainland. Visitors are always welcome and admission is free.”
