Parksville Royals pitcher Anson McGorman has earned a spot on Canada’s junior national baseball team, currently playing a seven-game ‘Friendship Series’ against the United States in Sarasota, Fla.
McGorman was in the lineup Sept. 3, at Ed Smith Stadium. Canada gave up five runs in the first inning and was not able to recover as the U.S. won 14-2. McGorman came in relief and tossed a scoreless seventh inning before allowing three runs in the eighth.
