Thirteen Nelson swimmers are on their way to provincials after the Neptunes hosted qualifying last weekend.
The Neptunes finished fourth out of seven teams that competed during regionals at the Nelson and District Community Complex on Saturday and Sunday. The team also finished with 35 gold medals, 31 silver and 26 bronze.
Keira Badry, Kallie Badry, Lachlan Bibby-Fox, Madeline Holitzki, Matthew Holitzki, Olivia Cowan, Enna Cowan, Imogen Cowan, Sage Cowan, Raine Ingram, Cynthia Pfeiffer, Ella Chouinard and Sarah Broen will represent the Neptunes at provincials Aug. 18 to 20 in Kamloops.
A Nelson family was also honoured at the event. Chad and Leanne Badry, along with their kids Keira and Kallie, were awarded for being a family who works for the benefit of the region and the sport of swimming.
Castlegar finished first at regionals, followed by Kimberley, Grand Forks, Nelson, Trail, Creston and Colville, Wash.
