PeeWee Raiders win fifth straight game

Youth football teams close out regular season on the road

The Comox Valley Raiders PeeWees posted their fifth  consecutive win by defeating Nanaimo Barsby in Week 10 (Nov. 1-3) youth football action in Nanaimo.

Barsby’s football program annually produces powerhouse teams at each level. Although undermanned, the Raiders Junior Bantams battled hard but couldn’t hold on against the Barsby JBs, losing 30-14.

On Sunday in Nanaimo, the Raiders Bantams were handed a disappointing 34-0 loss by the Red Dogs.

The Raiders are on the road for the final week (Nov. 9-10) of regular season play.  On Saturday the PeeWees travel to Nanaimo for an 11 a.m. kickoff  against Fairview NDSS followed by the Junior Bantams taking on the NDSS’s JB’s in a 1 p.m. start.

On Sunday, the Bantam Raiders head for Victoria Westhills Stadium to play the Spartans at 1 p.m. followed at 3 p.m. by the Raider Midgets facing Victoria’s Spartan Midgets.
