A 100 Mile House peewee rep team sponsored by Primal Electric finished its season with a tournament win in Clearwater, March 7-8.

It’s an impressive way to cap off an impressive season.

100 Mile House’s peewee rep team, sponsored by Primal Electric, went 4-0 and won a tournament in Clearwater, March 7-8.

Game 1 saw the peewee Wranglers up against a mixed team with bantam house league players from Clearwater. 100 Mile opened up scoring quickly with three goals from Ethan Sanders in the first period. Colby McCullough made it 4-0. Clearwater would make it 4-2 by the end of the second, but 100 Mile House held on for the 4-3 win. Marshall Tessaro and Owen Pincott would add two assists and Colby Glen added one. Sanders won MVP.

In Game 2 against Clearwater, Owen Pincott put 100 Mile House up 1-0 in the first. Clearwater would score two goals in the second. Robert Waldner tied it early in the third and Jace Myers scored the winner with nine minutes left. Assists went to Pincott (2) and Cole Allan. Colton Sanford won MVP.

Game 3 against Kamloops saw a scoreless opening period with both goalies playing great. Kamloops scored two goals in the second. But Sanders and Myers would tie the game midway through the third. Pincott scored the winner with two minutes left. Assists went Nate Wolstenholme (2) and Waldner. Pincott won MVP.

In the final game against Clearwater, Sanford started things off with a goal. Myers and Sanders then made the game 3-0 early in the second. Clearwater would get on the board next. (On the goal, goalie Ryan Balbirnie would fall on a loose stick and would need several minutes to recover.) Clearwater would score two more by the end of the second.

Sanders scored two in the third and Wolstenholme added one to bring the Wranglers back and win the game 6-4. Assists went Sam Chabot (2), Myers (2), Pincott (2) and Tessaro. Balbirnie won MVP.

“We bent but we didn’t break all weekend,” says coach Cale Tessaro. “It was a great way to end the year with a tournament win.”

The peewee Wranglers, which finished the season with a 25-14-6 record, also handed out team awards.
