Penticton Bantam Elks hockey win league title

The Penticton bantam Rec 1 BPO Elks team won the South Central Bantam Recreation Championship

The Penticton bantam Rec 1 BPO Elks team won the South Central Bantam Recreation Championship over West Kelowna 6-3.

Liam Whyte tallied two goals for the Penticton Elks, one of which was an empty-net goal with 1:31 left in the game that was rifled from the other end of the rink and sealed their victory. Richter Heintz also netted two goals while teammates Luke MacIntyre and Carson Drobe had singles. Trent Ashby earned the win in the net.

The bantam team, which finished first out of the 15-team Bantam Rec South Central Super League, will now compete at the district championship held March 17 to 19 in Lilloet.
