It was a packed house at Rise Fighting Championship 3 at the Landing Sports Centre in Chilliwack Saturday night.
Nearly 900 people came out to watch the mixed martial arts (MMA) event.
Chilliwack’s own Sabah Fadai, founder of Rise Fighting Championship, brought in 10 bouts for the event including the two main matches: Fadai versus D’Juan Owens (Richmond, Va.) in the lightweight championship, and Craig Maclean (Langley, B.C.) versus Chad Anheliger (Calgary, Alta.) in the bantamweight championship.
Fadai has been fighting for 12 years all over the world.
“I pursued professional MMA and reached the ranking of third place in Canada,” he said.
Fadai lost his bout to Owens by a split decision Saturday night. The event was broadcast live on FITE TV.
