Make a resolution
Resolutions are made to commit to positive changes in our own and other’s lives.
Each January, many of us resolve to better ourselves in some way. A few of us actually make good on those resolutions. While about 75 per cent of people stick to their goals for at least a week, less than half (46 per cent) are still on target six months later. this was from a study done back in 2002.
It’s hard to keep up the enthusiasm months after you’ve swept up the confetti, but it’s not impossible. This year, pick one of the following worthy resolutions, and stick with it. Here are just a few examples of some great resolutions to choose.
It does not always have to be about losing unwanted pounds we have packed on over the holiday season. It can be about helping others, finding ways to laugh more often or plan to enjoy each day to the fullest.

Yoga keeps our bodies strong
As we age, it gets harder and harder to move without our muscles fighting back. Yoga exercises helps to keep our bodies strong and lean without the stress of high impact fitness exercises.
Sarah Densmore will be offering a yoga program on Monday evening from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Arena Viewing Room starting Jan. 4. Registration fee for the 10-week program is just $90.
Winter swim hours:
The Grand Forks Aquatic Centre winter 2016 public swim hours are as follows: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 6 – 12:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursdays mornings from 8 – 12:30 p.m.
Monday to Wednesday afternoon hours are from 5 to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 5 – 9 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday the pool is open for public swim from 1 – 5 p.m. Schedule an outing to the pool on Friday nights during toonie night from 5 – 9 p.m.
Arena busy
Jack Goddard Memorial Arena will be busy this weekend with the peewee division minor hockey tournament.
The family drop-in hockey session will be canceled for this Saturday but will be scheduled next Saturday, Jan. 16 from 4:45 – 5:45 p.m.
Sunday afternoon public skate session will be a toonie skate from 4 – 5 p.m. following the tournament.
