It took the Abbotsford Pilots almost 59 minutes to score a goal and that just wouldn’t cut it on Friday against the North Vancouver Wolf Pack.
Alexander Methorst scored the Pilots lone goal on the power play to give the home team some hope in the final minute of play but North Van’s two goals in the second period held up.
Pilots head coach Jim Cowden said it wasn’t one of his team’s stronger efforts this season.
“We were sluggish and just had no energy,” he said. “We had a good week of practice but we just came out flat and had no jump whatsoever.”
He praised the play of goalie Jacob Crawford, who made 36 saves in the loss. Cowden said the team wasn’t supporting the puck carrier all game.
The two teams were scoreless after one but the Wolf Pack dominated in the second period. They scored a pair of goals and limited the Pilots offensive chances.
Abbotsford’s record drops to three wins and two losses in PJHL action. The club returns to the ice on Saturday when they travel north to battle the Mission City Outlaws.
