Abbotsford’s pink-haired pitching prodigy is continuing to impress on the mound.
Raine Padgham, who last year became the first player ever to play on a girls and boys team at the Western Canadian Baseball Championships, has made the Team B.C. U13 Selects boys provincial baseball team.

Padgham impressed coaches at three sets of tryouts earlier this month, and will join a team full of some of the best young players in the province for a tournament in Washington State in June.
She competed against over 200 players at the tryouts, which were held in Aldergrove. Padgham was one of the 14 players selected, along with three alternates.
It is the first time in B.C. that a female player has made the U13 boys team with pitcher as a primary position and centre field as a secondary position.
Padgham and the team will travel to Kennewick, Wash. from June 15 to 17 for the Tri-Cities Father’s Day Slugfest to compete against teams from Washington, Oregon and California.
She has been playing Pee Wee AA baseball with the boys this spring for Aldergrove, and has already been accepted onto the Pee Wee boys AAA team later this summer.
