The Pinnacles Football Club hosted its 55-team Peach City Classic tournament on the weekend.
The under-17/18 girls team won gold in a penalty shoot-out on Sunday. The squad won three games and tied one, while scoring 11 goals and allowing five. Leading the U17/18 boys gold/silver division were the Canadian Eagles Football Club Lions. They won two games while tying another, but lost the final game 2-0 to OKM Valley Challenge.
In the U16 boys division, SFC United topped its division with three wins and a loss and took gold with a 3-2 win over Coastal FC, while the U15/16 girls division was led by PFC Excelsior who finished with three wins and a loss. They lost 2-1 to the Vancouver United Sharks. In the U15 boys division, Canadian Eagles Azaad was perfect in three games scoring 11 goals and allowing two. PFC Excelsior went 1-1-1. The Azaad took gold with a 3-2 win over the Canadian Eagles FC Lions.
In the U14 age group, Surrey Elite topped the boys side with four wins. They scored 13 goals while not surrendering a goal. They took gold with a 1-0 win over the Temple United Cobras. The girls’ side was led by Westcoast FCAG Selects with three wins and one loss. Port Coquitlam Euro-Rite FC Venom, had the same record, but were in second because of goal-differential. Westcoast FCAG Selects defeated the Poco Rebels 4-0 for gold.
In U13, Surrey FC Thunder went 3-0 while scoring 12 goals to take the boy’s side. They shutout the Mission Lightning 4-0 to win gold. Winning the girls side were the Akal Football Club Outlaws 2-0 over the Coquitlam Metro Ford Trifecta.
