How about Gwyn Bowen chipping in on No. 2?
Then Nancy Clayton parred No. 27 and No. 4. Sharon Hillman parred No. 4 and No. 6. LaDonna Knutson parred No. 4.
Hillman also took the low gross and had the least amount of putts with Lois Robinson and Marie Swain tying with their low net. In B Division, June Parks walked away with the low gross score, Dianne Hoadley carded low net and Pat Dahlquist captured the putting jar.
18 Hole Division
Numbers were tossed around at random in the ball sweep.
Each player combined her gross score with the gross score of a hidden partner. Anna Marie Krikke and her hidden partner Pat Nicklin came in with the combined score of 184 to take first place. Linda Christian with her hidden partner Krikke took the low net.
Both Krikke and Christian each won a new ball for their efforts. Krikke also took the overall low gross honours and that’s playing with one shoe off and one shoe on. Doreen Grant came blasting in with the low net score of 72 to take those honours.
Challenge pin holder Marie Randall’s hot game was good enough to beat out challenger, Shannon Haggard. Randall will not be playing next week to defend her title so the pressure is off for the rest of us.
Team play last week was a virtual “blood letting”. Alberni’s “B” team defeated Eaglecrest with 40 points to their 32. “C” team’s result was almost the same story and when all was mopped up Alberni had 50 points to Arrowsmith’s 22.
These were the year end games for both teams. Solheim Cup, on the other hand, has one more game which will be hosted at Glacier Greens on Sept. 14. Shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m.
