The second annual BC Northern Regional Pond Hockey Championships are back at West Lake January 20-22, 2012. Teams of six will “lace ’em up” for some great four-on-four outdoor hockey action on 75’ x 150’ outdoor rinks at West Lake Provincial Park, located 24km west of Prince George, BC — the site of the inaugural event which took place in 2011. Games are 30 minutes long.
This year’s Pond Hockey tournament was slated to be at Tabor Lake for 2012, however, due to recent developments and unforeseen circumstances the tournament has been relocated back to West Lake, which will remain the permanent home for the event.
“We’re excited to be back in Prince George and for the event to take place at West Lake,” stated John Reed, tournament director for the BC Pond Hockey series. “It’s unfortunate that things didn’t work out at Tabor, but when everything’s said and done, we know West Lake, BC Parks and our local team are fully onboard, and the location is beautiful and perfect for the event as it grows,” said Reed.
