16 talented figure skaters from the Port McNeill Figure Skating Club attended The 2018 Vancouver Island Regional Championships, in Port Alberni B.C.
The skaters returned to the North Island from the February 24th competition with multiple ribbons to show off their hard work and talent.
For Star 1 Girls Adyson McAstocker, Myra Weber-Silver, Frances Barnes, Felicia Barnes, Elana Jaeggle, Danica Jaeggle, Brittany Fraser, all won Silver and Presley Fjeld won Bronze. For Star 1 Boys Cameron Sheppe won Bronze. For Star 2 Girls Jessa Tomasi won Silver and Sophie Tynjala won Bronze. For Star 3 Girls Rayah Dustin won Gold, Natasha Grafton and Taylor McAstocker won Silver, and Ella Fjeld won Bronze. For Star 5 Girls Danielle Barnes won 4th place.
To catch these talented skaters in action check out The Port McNeill Figure Skating Club’s upcoming Carnival Ice Show, “North Island Strong” which will be on March 2 and 3. The Carnival includes two shows which start at 7:00 p.m. on both nights which cost $15 dollars for adults and $10 for kids. Tickets are available at the Flower Shop, Flora Borealis or at the door. Come for a night out to support skaters and a good skating show!
