The 2016 dragon boat season is just around the corner, and Prevailing Wins can't wait to get on the water.

With the 2016 dragon boating season about to begin, the Prevailing Wins Dragon Boat Society is  inviting people in the Comox Valley to come out and try this incredibly popular water sport.

Dragon boating has origins from China dating back over 2,000 years. It is the mass participation paddling sport of today, with an ancient past and a very bright future.

Dragon boating is a team sport, is very social, and great fun too. It may be enjoyed by participants of all ages, genders, and abilities.

Prevailing Wins, Adult Team

Our team is comprised of men and women who are dedicated to healthy lifestyles and want a balance of recreation, fitness, competition, and fun in their lives.

Our practices are incredibly exhilarating workouts that will challenge your physical strength and stamina to limits that you may not think yourself capable of.

If you wish, these practices may also lead to a variety of competitive meets, which we attend during the course of the paddling season.

For those only interested in participating at a recreational level, we practise most Saturday mornings in Comox. We provide life-jackets, paddles, and in-depth instructions regarding paddling techniques as well as dragon boat safety requirements.

Dragon Riders, Youth Team

If you are aged 14 to 18, you can join our youth team for fun, fitness and recreation. If you are interested in a more intense workout, which will lead to competitive meets, we have that too.

The Dragon Riders is a mixed team of energetic young people who successfully compete in many events, often placing in the top ranks against adult teams.

Our team captain and recreation coordinator is Leon who can be reached at 250-339-5772 or  lmvannoo@gmail.com For recruiting information, contact Dwayne at 250-339-3499 or email gdwaynev@gmail.com
