Quesnel’s younger cowboys and cowgirls had a grand ole time in Pritchard last weekend, leaving town with wads of cash in their saddle bags.
Leading the way was Lane Cork who took first place in junior breakaway roping with a time of 3.3 sec., good enough for a $195.84 payout.
Taylor Cathcart finished a close second with a time of 4.3 seconds and scooted home with an extra $149.76 in his saddle bag.
In junior barrel racing, McKenzie and Lane Wills kept the ball rolling for Quesnel rodeo folk in with second and third-place finishes, respectively.
McKenzie collected a payout of $219.96 for her time of 16.889 around the set of three barrels and sister Lane pocketed $152.28 for her 16.910 sec. ride around the barrels.
In Junior steer riding, Dustin Speirs and Clay Waterhouse tied for third place with Jake Gardner of Fort St. John. Each rider took home $71.28.
