Prospect Lake is heading back to the Terry Price Cup final as the perennial contender seeks yet another premier women’s soccer title.
Prospect Lake finished third in the Lower Island Women’s Soccer Association and will face second-place Vic A’s in the Terry Price Cup final, 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 2 at Tyndall Turf.
Prospected Lake edged Nanaimo Utd. 2-1 in the semifinal while the Vic A’s handed the previously undefeated Castaway Highlanders their first loss of the season, 1-0.
The Castaway Highlanders went 12-0 to finish atop the LIWSA premier division table.
In the other cup finals, the Saanich Fusion will face Bays Utd. for the Div. 1 Doug Day Cup, 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
The finalists for the Stephanie Shergold Cup for mid-tier clubs will be decided on Friday, March 31, with Lakehill Reds (Div. 2) facing Saanich Fusion (Div. 2) in one semifinal (time and place TBD), while Castaways Utd. (over-30) is facing Gorge (over-30) in the other semifinal, 7:30 p.m. at PISE.
The Shergold final is set for 11 a.m. on April 9 at Lochside Turf in Saanich. The Frank Leversedge Cup final is also set for April 9, 1:30 p.m. at Locshide.
The March 31 semifinal teams are still pending with mid-week quarterfinals matches, JDF (over-30) against Saanich Fusion Fire (over-30), Salt Spring (Div. 3) against Ladysmith (Div. 3), Sooke (Div. 3) vs. Lakehill Gunners (Div. 3) and Vic West (Div. 3) vs. Bays Utd. (Div. 3).
