In Men’s Club action at the Alberni Golf Club last Sunday, Jim Proteau had the low gross, while Sam Parhar had the low net in the low handicap division and Bob Matlock had the low net in the high handicap division.
There was only one skin on Sunday and that went to Sam Parhar with a net 2 on No. 15. Likewise there was only one outright money pot winner on Sunday and that was Keith Gauthier who pocketed $25 for his birdie on No.4.
The closest to the pin winners were Cliff O’Laney on No.2, Darrell Van Os who took home $25 on No.4 Charity Closest to the pin, On No. 13 it was Chad Wutke and on No. 17 Glen Trask was the winner.
Up next for the Men’s Club is the MacDermotts Insurance Agency Waltz which takes place this coming Sunday, May 4. This is a four-man team event. The format is as follows, on hole No. 1 you count the best net, on hole No. 2 you count the best two nets, hole No. 3 you count the best three nets. Then you start over again until all 18 holes have been played.
Example: if you start on No. 11 you would count the two best nets and carry on from there.
The shotgun start takes place at precisely 8 a.m.; try to be there at least 15 minutes early so you can get to your assigned tees on time. Please register in the Pro Shop in your own foursome, or as a single and you will be placed on a team.
Or you can phone the club at 723-5422. Just a reminder that guests are always welcome at the Alberni Golf Club.
This Saturday, May 3 is the annual Alberni Golf Club Junior Open House from 1–3 p.m. We encourage all kids ages four to 18 years who are interested in golf to come out and learn a bit about the game. There will be two professionals on hand as well as guest speakers.
