Qualicum Beach’s Connor LaCouvee’s Boston University Terriers are back in the finals of the Beanpot tournament, held every year for bragging rights as Boston’s best university hockey team.
With four universities in close proximity to one another (BU, Boston College, Harvard and Northeastern), the tournament debuted in 1952 at the old Boston Garden and has seen its popularity grow every year since.
LaCouvee’s Terriers have been a force at the Beanpot tournament, winning a grand total of 30 times in its history.
Next closest to the Terriers is Boston College, with 19 Beanpot titles to their name.
The semi-final games were played out on TSN last week and the finals took place on Monday evening (score not available at press time) between Boston College and LaCouvee’s Terriers, looking to win the title for a second straight year.
