The Watch Lake Green Lake Fishing Derby had many hungry men and women ready to go out and fish on June 4-5.

Laura Dewar had the biggest catch Saturday morning with a seven-pound rainbow trout out of Green Lake.

When she posed for photos, she could hardly hold on to the fish due to all the excitement.

Great weather accompanied the entire event, which saw more than 206 participants try to reel in the largest fish.

Fishers were early to rise on Saturday as Don Grant caught an 11 1/2 ounce fish at 5 a.m. sharp on Watch Lake. The fishing continued well into the night with John Buckle snagging a two pounder at 9 p.m.

In total, 80 fish were caught with 75 caught in Watch Lake and five in Green Lake. Several prizes were awarded, including drinking mugs, gift cards, movie passes and fishing equipment.
