After a scoreless 80-minute battle on Sunday, Quw’utsun FC conceded two late goals and ended up on the wrong side of a 2-0 final score in Div. 3B men’s soccer game against JDF Blue at Royal Bay Secondary School.
“Juan de Fuca played a strong game and made good work of a couple of late-game errors,” Quw’utsun coach Peter Moses said. “We had our chances but didn’t capitalize on them. Their goalie had a solid game today that also hindered our offence.
With two draws and three losses through their first five games as a new team to the Vancouver Island Soccer League, Quw’utsun is getting closer to earning their first victory.
“We are looking stronger as a team,” Moses said. “And that is the positive we will take from today’s efforts.”
Quw’utsun will play host to Saltspring Alumni at the Si’em Lelum field this coming Sunday at 2 p.m.
