After a night full of crazy drifting, #187 Jack Topliss won the fifth and final round of drifting at Saratoga Speedway on Saturday, winning his second straight round of drifting.
After all the points were added up, #26 Alex Davidson was declared the 2013 drifting champion, barely beating Topliss to take the title.
The second and final round of heads up drag racing also took place Saturday. The final came down to two bikes, #668 Bruce Moran in his 2004 Suzuki GSXR and #777 Justin Smith in his Harley Davidson. After a close drag, the Harley Davidson took the win.
The Motorcycles were added to the racing card due to their championship night being rained out. #6 Joel Forth held a 65-point lead over #5 Ben Duperron going into Saturday, but Duperron did not show up on Saturday, giving the 2013 championship to Forth. #1 Keegan Ikeda had his best night of the year, winning the 10-lap heat race and leading all 12 laps of their main event.
Ten Bomber cars hit the track on Saturday. #9 Darrel Larson won the first 12-lap heat race, with the second 10-lap reverse going to #72 Stewart Lee. Thirty laps were given to a seven-car field that saw #9 Darrel Larson jump to an early lead. But after 16 laps, Lee made his way around Larson and went on to win his sixth Bomber main event of the year.
A season-high seven I.M.C.A Modifieds qualified on Saturday. Two heats saw #89 Gregg Sagmoen and #91 Chris Beaulieu take wins. A 20-lap main saw Beaulieu dominate the field, grabbing the lead on lap six and taking home yet another I.M.C.A Modified main event win.
EXTRA LAPS Six championships and an amazing fireworks show will cap off the 2013 racing season this Saturday at the Black Creek oval… tight points races in several divisions are going right down to the wire … the Figure 8s will also be in action …
