Rage mine silver

Parksville’s U14 Girls Rage fastball team went 5-1 on the field and captured a silver medal in Port Alberni last weekend.

Parksville’s U14 Girls Rage fastball team went 5-1 on the field and captured a silver medal in Port Alberni last weekend.

The Rage went 3-1 in pool play at the tournament; posting wins over Port Alberni 1 (16-14), Langford (18-16) and Port Alberni 2 (29-2), with a loss to Duncan (16-11).

In the double knockout playdowns, the Parksvillians beat Port Alberni 1 19-17, and knocked off Campbell River before coming up short in the gold medal game against Campbell River.

“It was good to see the growth of the team over the course of the weekend,” said Rage co-coach Sue Street explaining “many of our girls are new and learning the sport, so it was great to come away with a medal.”

The Rage are about halfway through their season which culminates with their provincial playdowns in Port June 15.
