The Kelowna Raiders led from start to finish, hanging to edge the Kamloops Rattlers Friday for their first victory of the Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League season.
The Raiders’ tight play on defense was backed up by Tanner Belsham’s solid goaltending and Joe Brown’s stellar play on offense in a 10-9 win at Memorial Arena.
The Rattlers were unable to sustain any prolonged momentum on offense an ultimately came up one goal short.
Brown paced the Kelowna attack with four goals, while Nick Evans added a pair and Mitch Brodt, Jacob Illichmann, Chris Phillips and Vic Wiens added singles. AJ Lockwood and Chris Kerssens scored three goals each for Kamloops.
The Raiders, now 1-3, will return to action is Friday, June 2 at home against the Armstrong Shamrocks. Face off at Memorial Arena is 8 p.m.
