Rain dampens second Ladies Night

Unfortunately the second Ladies Night on May 11 was a total washout

Unfortunately the second Ladies Night on May 11 was a total washout. The rain and wind kept everyone away.

However, there was a great turnout on the first night of Lacarya Ladies Golf on May 4. A total of 21 regular and new golfers hit the links and everyone had a fun game.

Some of us are pretty rusty after a long winter but the pleasant walk in the late afternoon sun shook out a few cobwebs.

This season the club is trying a new format where golfers signup beforehand and teams are made up on Thursday. Then there is a shotgun start at 5 p.m.

This way everyone gets to golf with different people with differing levels of golf skills each week. After all, Ladies Night is for fun and socializing.

Our new hosts, Mike and Dawn Purdy, put on a good dinner and are hard at work to get the course in tip-top shape.

Remember to call Lacarya at 587-6100 to sign up for Ladies Night or to book a tee-time if you play ladies night before the 5 p.m. start.

If you have any questions about Ladies Night, please call club captain Jane Olson at 587-6290, co-captain Abbey Bates at 674-2127, or treasurer Carol Hindle at 674-8771.

Thank you to our wonderful sponsors for 2017: The Caboose Restaurant, Home Hardware, The Painted Turtle Restaurant, Pharmasave, Buy-Low Foods, Wells Gray Inn, Tim Hortons and Rona.
