A little bit of drizzle didn’t dampen the spirits of 37 women who came out to play at Ladies’ Day at Marmot Ridge Golf Course on July 20.
They played through it with no problem, using a format called “Criers,” during which golfers were allowed to replace their three worst holes with the par score.
Winner of the lowest score was Louise Mayes and tying for most honest, or high score, were Gisela Janzen and Michelle Jongbloets.
Long-drive winner was Debbie Verboom on hole No. 1 and Becky Pincott took long drive on No. 7. Short drive went to Lauree Carmichael on No 6.
Marg Mitchell canned the long putt on No. 3, and closest-to-the-pin (KP) first shot went to Dot Verboom on No. 8. Laverne Martin and Sue Pinkerton each shot deuces on No. 2, while Val Nickless got a deuce on No. 8 and Pincott had one on No. 9. Kathy Reid got a KP on her third shot at hole No. 5.
The hidden-hole prize was carried over and currently sits at $100. Sinking the Big Putt was also carried over and is valued at $109.
Ladies Day at Marmot Ridge is every Wednesday, and for more information, call the golf course at 250-395-4169.
