Rain wrecked havoc with the local men’s fastball schedule during the past two weeks, leaving three out of seven game nights cancelled.

The league was able to squeeze in a game on May 18 during which Williams Lake Shuswap took both sides of a doubleheader, downing Red Rock 11-1 in the first game and 8-2 in the second.
Exeter Sporting Goods saw their first defeat of the season on May 19, losing 9-4 to Jake’s Pub. Pitcher for the winning team was Greg Parent.
Rain held off long enough on May 24 to allow a 14-3 win for Exeter in a game with Sanders Redi-Mix. The game looked like it might be an Exeter shutout until Bill Estabrooks from Sanders spoiled it with a homer over the centre-field fence.
A tight game on May 30 saw Pat Findlay help Red Rock to a 6-5 lead over Exeter by the top of the seventh inning. Exeter’s Chad Paterson turned the tide in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run homer to end the game 7-6 for Exeter.
