Ramblers clip Talons in rematch

The Maple Ridge Ramblers senior girls’ basketball team downed the Gleneagle Talons 63-34 last weekend, avenging their loss to the Coquitlam team in December.

A wild first quarter saw the Ramblers up by a score of 27-13, a lead they would add to as the game progressed. They stretched their lead to 35-17 at the half, before pulling away for good in the second half, outpacing Gleneagle 28-17 in the final two quarters.

Kolbie Orum scored a game-high 24 points, while Lauren Lamont had 10 points, shooting 83 per cent from the field.

Coral Lee Anataya had nine points and five rebounds, while Zoe Yoxall had six points and four rebounds. Haeley Williams had seven points.

The Ramblers defence managed to stifle the Talons, preventing any of their players from reaching double-digits.
