Ravensong Waterdancers perform well at regional meet

Mable Moran Regional Championships held in Richmond

The Ravensong Waterdancers made a splash at the Mable Moran Regional Championships held in Richmond.

The Waterdancers returned home with medals and also well-placed results in a number of events against some formidable competition.

In the solo 11-12-year-old competition, Peyton Howell finished first while McKinley Shworan and Bryn McGorman ended up in second place in the duet. Emilia Birchard and Clair Scott were not far behind in third place.

Kaia Fuchs and Sarah McNeill took top spot in the 13/15 duet while Pascha Nemlander and Sydney Waldie finishing in fifth place and Danyka Thornburn and Miranda Sepos were behind in sixth place.

In the team competition, McGorman, Shworan, Howell, Emelia Birchard, Aurora French, Claire Scott, Sam Mahony and Adana Backe landed first place in the 11/12 age group.

In the 13/15 team competition, Nemlander, Emily Mahony, Thorburn, Natalie Kjellbotn, Sydney Waldie, Miranda Sepos and Kate Maddex combined to finish in third place.

The seniors recreation team of Julianne Hendriks, Maria Hendriks, Sasha Frizzell, Ariana Jones, Sierra Tryon, Rowan Sepos and Keeley Whitney-McGarvey placed sixth overall in the team competition.

The Ravensong Waterdancers are now preparing for their second competition of the year — the Provincial Championships, to be held in Victoria May 12-13.
