The Regional District of Nanaimo will again offer a myriad of activites for people to try in conjunction with Active Aging Week.

This is an annual event that aims to give as many older adults as possible the means to experience activities and exercise in a safe, friendly and fun atmosphere.

From Sept. 24 to Sept. 29, the RDN’s recreation department will showcase activities and sports so that people who are on the fence can actually try them out or learn more about them. They are all free drop-in activities.

The RDN will provide the usual sports and recreation events like cycling, slo-pitch, curling, pickleball, tai chi, badminton, hiking, walking soccer and carpet bowling. There’s also less-strenuous activities like yoga, singing, job searching, mah jong, bridge, ukulele, and many more.

For more information on the different events during the whole week, you can go to rdn.bc.ca/recreation or call 250-752-5014.
