Rebels beat Hawks in double OT on the road to stay alive

The Castlegar Rebels defeated Beaver Valley 4-3 Monday night in double overtime thanks to a timely goal by Arthur Andrews.

The Castlegar Rebels defeated Beaver Valley 4-3 Monday night in double overtime thanks to a timely goal by Arthur Andrews. Andrews scored at 17:52 of the second overtime period to give the Rebs the victory in Fruitvale.

Scott Morisseau scored the Rebs first two goals as the teams were tied at 2-2 in the second period. Tyler Robinson gave Castlegar the lead with 11:17 left in the second.

Arie Postmus tied the game 3-3 at 3:17 of the second stanza. After no scoring in the third, the teams took two overtimes to settle things.

Jordan Gluck picked up the second star of the game turning away 46 Nitehawk shots including 10 in the overtime periods. Andrews was named first star after scoring the winning goal.

 

The teams return to Castlegar tonight (Tuesday) at 7:30 p.m. for game six with the Hawks up 3-2.
