After a loss on the road to start the season, the Surrey Rebels evened their won-loss record at 1-1 Monday night at the Cloverdale Arena, ripping the Langley Warriors 11-3 in West Coast Junior Lacrosse League play.
The Rebels led 5-1 and 7-2 at the period breaks, and outshot Langley 47-35. Jeff Geyer got the win in the Surrey goal, making 32 saves and collecting one assist.
Mat Cruickshank paced the Rebels with three goals and an assist, with Brandon Baldo and Graeme Harkison netting two goals each.
Eamon Butler and Brad Olson contributed with a goal and three helpers each.
Harrison Mortimore also tallied once.
Surrey was outshot 59-35 last Thursday night in Port Moody in their 14-6 loss to the Thunder. Trailing 6-1 and 10-5 at the period breaks, the Rebels got two goals and an assist from Max Richards. Baldo, Conor Campbell, Mike Meldrum and David Goodwin also tallied for Surrey.
The Rebels host the New Westminster Salmonbellies next Monday (May 9) at 8 p.m. at the Cloverdale Arena.
