The Terry Fox Run will be held in Grand Forks on Sunday, Sept. 16.

The Grand Forks recreation department will be hosting the annual event for Terry Fox’s cause toward funding innovative cancer research.

The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $600 million for cancer research worldwide and 84¢ of every dollar raised goes to cancer research. There have been 1,180 research projects funded so far, providing the opportunity for exploration in lung, ovarian, colorectal, pancreatic, oral, liver, oncolytic viruses and many other types of cancers.

There is no entry fee and no minimum pledge to participate in the Terry Fox Run. However, the event is a fundraiser and any donation big or small is greatly appreciated. Pledge forms are available at the recreation office and aquatic Centre.

If you want to give to the Terry Fox Foundation and you have a smart phone, text terryfox to 45678 and donate $5.
