Scuba is a lifelong skill that you can take with you anywhere.
You can include it in your plans when booking that trip to a warm destination or it can be used during our summer months here at home.
Kids as young as six can take part in this great water activity.
Serpent Aquatics from Summerland provides all the equipment and instruction once a month at the Grand Forks Aquatic Centre. Sheldon Boyd, the instructor, has now opened his program to adults once a month. You can use each dive towards your open water diving certification. The next session will be held on Sunday, Nov. 4 between 12:45 and 4:30 p.m.

Bring the little ones to the aquatic centre for some playtime in the water.
Parent and Tot swim lessons are held Monday and Wednesday from Nov. 5 to 21 from 5:45 to 6:15 p.m. Parents learn water safety skills while the babies have fun in a new environment.

Parent and Tot Skate is held every Monday morning from 10 to 11 a.m. Carla Bryan offers games and activities during this program. There is no cost for families and children under six and no charge for skate rentals. This program has been sponsored by Success by Six.
Parent and Tot skate is also offered Thursday afternoons from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. There is no supervisor on the ice and there is no charge for the skating session during this time.

We are now taking registration for the winter swim lessons. You will receive a 10 per cent discount off the new 2013 rates if you register before Dec. 31. You can purchase swim lessons, pool passes or scuba lessons for Christmas gifts, give us a call for details.
