Reds play to Pee Wee draw

Reds and Yellow Jackets tied 9-9 in an all-Vernon Pee Wee baseball game at Creekside Park.

They went four innings and settled nothing as the Ironman Directional Drilling Reds and Interior Utility Management Yellow Jackets tied 9-9 in Pee Wee baseball at Creekside Park.

Starting pitcher Daryl Bloor stroked a pair of doubles and stole home once for the Yellow Jackets, while reliever Kalvin Blaeser drove in two runs on two doubles and swiped home once. James Eustache scored on Bloor’s first double.

Jackets’ catcher Eric Foufoulas recorded back-to-back outs with throws to first baseman Lincoln Connor.

Hayden Lewis was solid on the Reds’ mound, striking out three in the second inning. Reliever Chris McIntosh cracked a single and worked the bases to later steal home.

Nick Walker rapped an RBI-single, while Ryan Gamage smoked a two-run double to bring in Lewis and Alyssa Racine for the Reds. Racine and Blaeser were strong on the hill in the fourth.
