A pair of local football players are suiting up for Team BC later this month at the fourth annual Tanoa Bowl Classic.
Evan Rees and Connor Griffiths earned spots on their respective rosters and will represent the province on Dec. 28 in Auburn, Wash.
The B.C. teams will play against their counterparts from Washington State and Hawaii.
The roster was announced on Tuesday (Dec. 16).
Connor Griffiths is a six-foot-four, 278-pound defensive lineman from the Langley Stampeders midget football team. He will play on the U18 squad.
And on the Grade 8 provincial team, North Langley Bears running back Evan Rees made the final cut. Rees is five-foot-eight, 140 pounds.
The U18 team will play WA Vasa and the Grade 8 teams battles the NW Cougars.
Nick Kawaza, the offensive co-ordinator of the Langley Rams junior football team, will serve the same role with the Grade 8 team. He will also be the quarterbacks coach. And the Rams’ Rick Pennell will coach the offensive line for the U18 squad.
